Magazine Design: On The Horizon

Editorial Design Focused on Healthy Living and Sustainable Farming

This magazine project centers on creating a visually engaging and cohesive editorial system for On The Horizon, a publication dedicated to healthy living and sustainable farming practices. The design balances aesthetic appeal with clear, structured communication to guide readers through complex environmental and food-related topics.

A strong grid system underpins the layout, ensuring consistent alignment and rhythm across spreads. The cover features bold, uppercase typography paired with rounded rectangular text blocks that contrast against a vibrant, full-bleed photograph of crops—drawing attention while maintaining legibility. The use of earthy tones and natural greens throughout reinforces the magazine’s thematic connection to nature and sustainability.

Inside spreads demonstrate careful typographic hierarchy with clear differentiation between headlines, subheadings, and body text. Selective use of color accents (notably green) highlights key terms and links back to the core message of growth and renewal. Generous white space and balanced margins improve readability and give the content room to breathe, inviting thoughtful engagement.

Imagery is thoughtfully integrated, with full-page photos and smaller visuals creating visual interest and supporting the narrative flow. The overall design exemplifies editorial control, balancing informative content with a fresh, inviting aesthetic that reflects the magazine’s commitment to environmental consciousness.
